This year's "Sinjavin Marathon Kolašin - Žabljak" gathered about seventy participants on Saturday, and the competitors, including the President of the Municipality of Kolašin Milosav Bulatović, successfully covered the 32-kilometer long course from Vratl to Provali in Vrtoč Polje on snowshoes, Nordic and ski touring.
Veteran Boban Brković shared first place with Željko Rondović in the Nordic ski category, second was Božidar Kovijanić, while member of the Black Army (VCG) Dragutin Vuković won third place, the organizers announced.
The best in the category of touring skis was Lazar Badanjac from Croatia, while the second and third places were won by Miljko Bulajić and Boris Čelebić. Branislav Baltić from Mojkov was the best on snowshoes, ahead of Slavko Mrdak from Białystok and Aleksandar Puletić from Kolašin. Among the women, in Nordic skiing, Ljiljana Vuković was the best, and Vesna Perović was second. Ana Perušič is first in ski touring, and Miluša Bošković is first in snowshoeing. In that category, second place was shared by Biljana Medenica, Violeta Marković and Jelena Petković. This year's Sinjavin Marathon was also organized by the NGO of the same name, together with the local administrations and tourist organizations of Kolašin, Žabljak and Mojkovac. Strong logistical support, according to the organizers, was also provided by the VCG, and the event was attended by Minister of Defense Predrag Bošković. A team composed of members of the mountain units participated in the marathon. Members of the IPA (International Police Association) section of Montenegro also competed in the ski tour, who signed a memorandum of cooperation with the NGO Sinjavinski Marathon.
"The assessment of all participants is that the event was a success. This is a great incentive for us. There were about 100 people on the mountain on Saturday, which is a special pleasure for all of us who strive to valorize Sinjavina as a tourist destination," said the Sinjavina Marathon NGO.
