As part of the first official visit of representatives of the Diaspora Administration to Argentina, on Thursday, March 5, 2020, in the city of Rosario in the province of Santa Fe, the "Montenegro" square was opened, the Diaspora Administration announced today.
The announcement adds that the director of the Diaspora Administration Predrag Mitrović, the president of the Municipality of Bar Dušan Raičević and the ambassador of Montenegro to Argentina Srđan Stanković opened the square "Crna Gora" with the member of the city council of the city of Rosario, Karlos Kardos.
It is also stated that the opening of the square, which was initiated by the Montenegrin Community of Santa Fe Province, was also attended by Milica Radojičić, an independent adviser in the Diaspora Administration.

The Director of the Diaspora Administration, Predrag Mitrović, pointed out the importance of the ties and cooperation between Montenegro and Argentina, friendly ties and good relations between the two countries, which are connected by a large number of descendants of Montenegrin emigrants settled in this area.
Emphasizing that the Montenegrin diaspora, regardless of where it is located, carries Montenegro in its heart and represents a bridge of cooperation with the host country, Mitrović emphasized that the opening of a square with the name of the mother country in the city where even the second, third and fourth generations of our emigrants - another proof of sincere feeling and attachment to the country of their origin, which is passed down from generation to generation.
Bar Municipality President Dušan Raičević said that it was a great honor for him to have the opportunity to see that the immense emotion of our emigrants towards their home country was the guiding idea for the Rosari city administration to pay tribute to Montenegro by opening the square.
Mitrović, Stanković and Radojičić met with the presidency and members of the Montenegrin Community of Santa Fe Province, with whom they discussed the situation and opportunities among the Montenegrin diaspora in this area, as well as the future activities of this community.
Mitrović, as announced by the Diaspora Administration, expressed his satisfaction that he is visiting the Montenegrin community in Santa Fe Province for the first time, and at the same time expressed the hope that future cooperation with the Diaspora Administration will be more fruitful after establishing personal contacts and connections between representatives of the diaspora and representatives of the state of Montenegro.
"Mitrović informed those present about the current activities of this body, as well as future plans for achieving and strengthening cooperation with our diaspora in Latin America. He referred to the possibility of participation of diaspora organizations from this continent in the Public Competition for co-financing projects or programs of diaspora organizations which, according the second time, to be announced in mid-March of this year. In that part, he called on the members of the community to, in cooperation with the Embassy of Montenegro in Argentina, design and run projects that will be important for preserving the culture, identity, language and traditions of their country of origin." , said the Administration for the Diaspora.
The announcement also states that Mitrović pointed to other activities and activities of the Directorate for the Diaspora, and possible fields of cooperation, especially in the part of preserving and nurturing linguistic identity, which is of particular importance for the Montenegrin diaspora in that area.
