The water pipes of the two Kolašin ski resorts could soon become an integral part of the municipal enterprise Vodovod i kanalizika.
The director of that company, Momčilo Bulatović, says that there are intense discussions about it these days.
He told "Vijesta" that, if an agreement is reached, the management of snow-making installations on private and state ski resorts would also be entrusted to the company Vodovod i Kanalizacija.
"This would imply that other water sources and watercourses would be included in the water supply network. This would increase the yield of the existing water sources. Also, a sufficient amount of water would be provided for all the infrastructure that will be built on the ski resorts, which also includes new hotels, restaurants, motels..." said Bulatović.
According to him, this would contribute to the development of the company.
As Bulatović said, a larger volume of work would require the hiring of additional qualified labor, but would also improve the financial stability of the company.
The network of the old water supply was built in 1946, when the spring in Rijeka Mušovića was captured, from which households in Kolašin are still supplied with water today.
For a number of reasons, especially in summer or during long dry periods, many taps in suburban areas are dry for days, even weeks.
Bulatović previously said that expert assessments that the construction of two ski centers on Bjelasica, i.e. the clearing of the forest for ski slopes, had reduced the yield of the springs, were unfounded. Expert assessments have not been made on this.
