The speeches and songs at yesterday's procession in Pljevlje stopped when the call to prayer sounded from the Hussein Pasha mosque.
Those present listened to the call to prayer, and then the rector of the Cetinje seminary, Gojko Perović, addressed the gathering, saying that "the voice of his own brother" had just been heard.
"This voice that you just heard is the voice of one brother. And our voice here is the voice of another brother. A born brother. When I say this I am not exaggerating. I am passing on that biblical memory. From the two sons of Abraham, Ishmael and Isaac, come two biblical traditions, two confessions," Perović pointed out.
He added that the Arabs descend from Ishmael, and through them the followers of Muhammad - Muslims, and the Judeo-Christians descend from Isaac.
"And those two processions, those two brothers by birth and their spiritual and physical descendants, reached both here in Montenegro and in Pljevlja. A little while ago you heard the voice of Ismail, and now we are here transmitting the voice of Isaac. And here we are to this day , the other two brothers. Two brothers who pray and address God in different ways. Just as the blessed patriarch Paul said, that people are like birds in the forest, each with their own voice, with a different voice, singing their song to God. And "We here today, fighting against this law, against this injustice, are also fighting for our religious rights, as well as for the rights of our Muslim brothers. Because this law equally threatens our and their religious rights," said Perović.
Lities are held twice a week as a sign of protest against the Law on Freedom of Religion.
