In the Great Hall of the Herceg Novi Municipal Assembly, a meeting of the Municipal Protection and Rescue Team was held today, chaired by President Stevan Katić.
"It was concluded that all points from the last meeting have been responded to, and new measures and decisions have been determined for the actions of citizens and companies founded by the Municipality, as well as business entities in our city. The epidemiologist of the Health Center Dr. Stefa Glušac informed that in Herceg Novi 400 people in self-isolation and under sanitary supervision, of which 15 had contact with confirmed positive cases. So far, as far as Herceg Novi is concerned, 5 cases of infection with the coronavirus have been confirmed, of which one of our fellow citizens, unfortunately, has died." , announced the Municipality of Herceg Novi.
As it was said at the meeting, the Health Center and all the clinics have been completely disinfected, and two doctors and six technicians are currently under self-isolation measures, and all are free of health problems.
"A team from the Health Center has been appointed that will visit all citizens who are in quarantine at the Lighthouse Hotel once a day, in order to provide health care for all possible problems that are not suspected of the occurrence of the coronavirus. About the health of those located in the first phase of the "Dr. Simo Milošević" Institute the employees of that institution are concerned. All passengers placed in quarantines, who have symptoms that could indicate the coronavirus, will be treated by the Epidemiological Service of the Health Center. The Herceg Novi Red Cross, in cooperation with municipal volunteers, has designated a group of 4 people who will assist the Army in daily shifts of Montenegro and placed in quarantine at the Lighthouse Hotel, regarding the delivery of food, groceries and basic necessities. It is about the number of volunteers that that organization, in cooperation with municipal volunteers, can determine for these needs at this time," it was announced.
Glušac added that the situation in both quarantines is under control.
"Sanitary Inspector Karmela Mujičić reported that special measures have been in force since March 24.03 under which Montenegrin citizens can return to the country in a passenger vehicle, with special approval from the NKT. For all these persons, accommodation is determined in one of the quarantines, unlike current practices, i.e. measures of self-isolation. Truck drivers, who are allowed to carry out their work, when they are not driving, should observe self-isolation measures. The head of the Herzegovina Security Center, Goran Banićević, informed that so far 9 criminal charges have been filed, due to violations of self-isolation measures, the operation of catering establishments and driving with more than two people in the vehicle," said the Municipality.
The representative of the Red Cross, Milena Šćekić, informed that for now there are 30 volunteers in the territory of the city, and that there is no need for an additional number, but that she will inform the public if the situation changes.
"From Monday to Wednesday, there were 47 calls to support the elderly and infirm, to provide them with food and medicine from their funds. Also, the Red Cross added that in cooperation with the NGO "Help" and "Mladi Romi" they distributed humanitarian help for 12 people. Taking into account that decisions were made at the national level on the cessation of city, suburban and intercity transport, at the meeting of the Municipal Team for Protection and Rescue it was decided that talks will be held with the NKT, in order to provide the citizens of Luštica with passage to pharmacies, clinics and grocery stores in Tivat", it was announced.
The following conclusions were reached at the meeting:
- The municipal team for protection and rescue brought a ban on departures and gatherings in parks, outdoor gyms and children's playgrounds. The ban will also apply to green areas and picnic areas. Members of the Security Center and the Communal Police and Inspection Service will in the future more rigorously control and warn citizens who are in self-isolation, or in the places specified in this ban.
- The municipal team for protection and rescue orders large retail chains to disinfect the entire outdoor space in front of the entrance of their facilities every day, after working hours, in accordance with the rules. All statements about work schedule methods in trade facilities will be checked, in cooperation with the Labor Inspection of Montenegro.
- The municipal team for protection and rescue orders all citizens to strictly adhere to the time for waste disposal, in the period from 21:7 p.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX a.m. Also, all citizens must leave bulky waste at the place of origin, so as not to burden the services that work in emergency circumstances.
- The municipality decided to make an intervention financial payment to the Red Cross, in the amount of 3.000 euros, which will be used for the purchase of aid packages for socially vulnerable categories of the population. The municipal team for protection and rescue invites all businessmen, companies and institutions to help by making payments to the giro account of the municipal organization of the Red Cross Herceg Novi 510-4621-48 CKB, so that help can be distributed from one place to those who need it most.
- The municipal team for protection and rescue recommends that all people over 65 years of age do not leave their homes, and those who need food delivery, to express their needs at the Red Cross telephone number 327 320, between 9 a.m. and 17 p.m.
- The communal police and inspection supervision service will visit facilities that deliver fast food, bakeries and pastry shops, in order to determine whether employees are wearing all the necessary protective equipment. In front of catering facilities that provide delivery services, a notice will be placed prohibiting the retention and consumption of food in the immediate vicinity of the facility.
- The municipal team made a recommendation that the public and the media receive information about the current health situation and other important information related to the COVID-19 infection from the Communication Team of the Municipality.
