Patients from Podgorica, whose health centers are closed, were unable to order therapy online last week, and some could not get advice or the chosen doctor on the available phone numbers of those institutions.

The director of the Podgorica Health Center, Nebojša Kavarić, did not respond to the "News" to whom patients should contact for the necessary therapy and to which phone numbers.

The Health Insurance Fund (FZO), which is responsible for electronic services, announced that in cooperation with the Podgorica Health Center, they adjusted the information system so that all electronic requests sent by patients to selected doctors at certain points that are not currently practicing to be realized by doctors who are in charge of processing requests without exception.

During the weekend, the remaining 380 requests for therapy at the Podgorica Health Center were processed.

The FZO explained that due to the heavy burden on healthcare workers and the system as a whole, the institutions are forced to make constant changes in the work organization.

"This implies the activation of new and deactivation of existing units, complete points of health centers, changes in the work schedule of teams of selected doctors, all with the aim of reducing the risk of the spread of covid-19 infection to patients and health workers", explained the FZO.

They said that all patients, who in the past period ordered a service through the electronic service (eTherapy, eSickness, eDoznake, ePotvrda...), whose implementation is pending due to these circumstances, will be treated as soon as possible and will receive appropriate feedback via SMS, immediately after processing the request.

"The same applies to all requests that will be ordered electronically from now on. This means that patients do not need to go to health centers in order to perform the aforementioned services with other doctors who, according to the current schedule, are active, on call or on duty," announced the FZO.
