In the past day, several fires were extinguished in the municipality of Bijelo Polje. The Protection and Rescue Service of this local government announced that the fire was fueled by a strong wind, and forests, low vegetation, and meadows burned in several locations, namely: Pećarska, Dobrinje, Boljanina, Kisjele vode, Grančarevo, Bistrica, Čeoče, Skočigora, on in several locations, the fire threatened houses and auxiliary buildings, and the fires were localized in a timely manner.
The service warns that the cause of all fires is the human factor, which is repeated year after year during the spring work season.
"We appeal to citizens to refrain from open fires," the Protection and Rescue Service states and announce that they will file criminal charges against unscrupulous individuals in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Municipal Police.
