"Since this is the time when the level of hygiene in the city is of crucial importance, the teams implement enhanced measures within their jurisdiction in the city area. These activities are also carried out in the Konik settlement, with respect for all employee protection measures. In addition to maintaining the cleanliness of this area, washing and disinfection of public areas in Konik are also regularly carried out," said director of "Čistoća" Andrija Čađenović.
He explained that people who have confirmed the presence of the coronavirus and are in home quarantine report the need for waste disposal to the Institute of Public Health, which implements the waste decontamination procedure, and the employees of "Cistoca" provide support and take the waste to a company authorized for further treatment. .
"The newly created situation does not affect the quality of the work entrusted to us and we perform all work operationally within the planned deadlines. In accordance with the measures of the National Coordinating Body, we corrected the dynamics of the work, so until April 22, the teams worked from 7 a.m. to 14 p.m. and from 14 p.m. to 21 p.m. At that time, there was also a correction in the area of waste disposal, so citizens from households could dispose of it on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 19 p.m., on Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 13 p.m., and on Sundays from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. I would like to mention that the citizens respect the recommendations", said Čađenović.
From April 23, in accordance with the NKT's recommendations on easing measures, work is organized in three shifts - from 7 a.m. to 14 p.m., from 14 p.m. to 22 p.m. and from 17 p.m. to midnight.
"Citizens can now dispose of waste every day from 23 a.m. to XNUMX p.m. Respecting all the measures and recommendations of the NKT, we implement everything necessary for the protection of workers, which is our priority in relation to all the jobs we carry out", said Čađenović.
Employees, he explained, are aware of the obligation to maintain physical distance.
"We have provided protective equipment for all employees, they receive masks and gloves every day. The vehicles have disinfectants on hand, they are regularly disinfected".
Čađenović pointed out that, unfortunately, there are still examples of irresponsible behavior of individuals who do not respect measures for proper waste disposal.
"Due to the improper disposal of waste around the container, it is still necessary to hire machinery every day. It is not a rare phenomenon that when emptying containers for disposal of dry and wet fractions of municipal waste, we still find unsorted waste. Although the recently installed containers have a foot pedal to open the lid, so there is no need to touch it, individuals leave waste next to the containers and on the lids," said Čađenović.
He said that they report this and other irregularities to their colleagues from the inspection services, with whom they cooperate on a daily basis with the aim of suppressing illegal dumping of waste.
"Also, we remind you that all responsible citizens can contribute by reporting observed irregularities, i.e. physical or legal entities that do not follow procedures and do not dispose of waste in the designated places, to the Municipal Police and the Municipal Inspection," said Čađenović.
