The Department of Protection and the Department of Environmental Hygiene and Improvement of the Infrastructure of the Biogradska Gora National Park implement activities aimed at arranging the space and recreation furniture. Minor landslides and large amounts of fallen leaves were removed from the Kraljevo kolo - Biogradsko jezero road route with the use of excavators, the National Parks of Montenegro (NPCG) announced.
The final works on the arrangement of the educational trail around Lake Biograd, pedestrian and bicycle paths, viewpoints and parking areas are in progress.
"As soon as all the conditions are met, this year, as well as in previous years, the Visitors Center and souvenir shop will be available to visitors, while in this period pedestrian and bicycle paths, viewpoints, a children's playground and other facilities will be available. Sports and recreation fishing on Lake Biograd is carried out as in previous years. We inform our visitors that this year, due to the pandemic situation and the recommendations of the National Coordination Body for Infectious Diseases (NKT), the traditional May Day gathering and socializing characteristic of this National Park will not be allowed. We hope for your understanding and compliance with all prescribed measures," the announcement states.
The NPCG reminds that with a new set of NKT measures aimed at mitigating the negative effects of the epidemic, the Public Enterprise for National Parks of Montenegro, starting from April 22, allowed visits to all Parks, i.e. the local population from the area of municipalities that gravitate to them, bearing in mind the ban intercity traffic.
"In order to protect the health of all employees of NPCG and users of protected areas, the Public Enterprise for National Parks of Montenegro appeals to all visitors to strictly adhere to all valid temporary measures and recommendations of the National Coordination Body, and above all measures on physical distance. All additional information can be obtained by calling 067 344 232," the statement concluded.
