On Podgorica's Independence Square, another dance as part of the global campaign against violence against women called "Billion Rises" was completed.
The dance is organized by the NGO Safe Women's House with the financial support of the UNDP Office in Montenegro.
"Every year in February, dance is used to protest violence against women around the world. We dance to demand that all violence against women be punished. We dance to feel and show the strength of unity in the fight against violence against women and to empower every victim to report violence and break the chain," said the Safe Women's House.
The "Billion Rises" campaign was launched 20 years ago.
The program began with the performance of the "Zvjezdice" children's choir.
A large number of citizens took part in the dance.
"Zero percent tolerance towards any violence against children and women", is the message from today's meeting.
At the invitation of the director of the SŽK Ljiljana Raičević, a minute's silence was held for the recently tragically deceased fifteen-month-old child from Podgorica, who succumbed to injuries sustained as a result of abuse.
"Every year we gather here to be part of the event, which today takes place in over 210 countries. Some squares are smaller and some are much more crowded than ours. Five thousand people gather somewhere to support women who are fighting against violence against women and children, for equality with men," Raičević said.
