The Workers' Party reminded that today is the day of remembrance of, as they say, the heroic struggle of our ancestors against fascism.
"Our task is to always remind them of their work, primarily to prevent the aspirations of those who would intentionally or due to their ignorance want to dispute that struggle and victory, and also to preserve their memories and express the great gratitude we owe them!", they said in a statement.
As they say in this political entity, Montenegro was then written in golden letters in history.
"In the best possible way, it joined the ranks of anti-fascist countries and defeated one of the worst totalitarian ideologies that humanity remembers. It is the duty of every individual to take a good look at and point out the appearance of fascism in a new form," the statement said.
They pointed to the three-decade rule of "one man and one party" whose rule is characterized by what they say is dictatorial power.
"Our country is a unique example of a country that celebrates its anti-fascist tradition, and on the other hand, for the last three decades it has been ruled by one man and one party and one eclectic ideology. That rule is characterized by dictatorial power, violent suppression of the opposition and disciplining of society. A party that perfidiously way under the guise of European integration, smears the eyes of the people and tries to hide its true nature. The attempt to rehabilitate the former fascist mercenaries popularly known as "macaronasi", who were condemned and liquidated by the post-war government as traitors to the people, is not a good message for future generations. Suppression of religious freedom , the persecution of priests and church dignitaries gives the kleptocratic rule a somewhat fascist character," the statement said.
"We ask all citizens who inherit anti-fascist values, to punish and put an end to the attempt to abolish any freedom or right to the citizens of Montenegro at the next elections. Dear citizens, we congratulate you on Victory Day. Death to fascism, freedom to the people!", the statement concluded.
