Today, representatives of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of the Interior of Romania made a donation of medical equipment within the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

The Director General of the Directorate for Emergency Situations of the MUP, Mirsad Mulić, thanked Romania for implementing this aid and, in this way, showed that it inherits European values and nurtures friendly relations with Montenegro.

"Today's donation represents an expression of European solidarity and unity in the fight against the coronavirus and gives additional meaning and quality to the efforts of the Government of Montenegro in the fight against this global scourge," said Mulić.

According to him, this donation also shows how important it is to be a member of the EU Mechanism for Civil Protection, through which Montenegro received and also sent aid in the previous period.

The medical equipment was procured within the framework of the special rescEU instrument of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, and Romania provided the procurement, distribution and coordination of this aid.

The Ambassador of Romania to Montenegro, Ferdinand Nađi, said that this aid is another example of the solidarity of the member states of the European Union with the countries of the Western Balkans, as well as confirmation of the extremely good relations between the governments of Romania and Montenegro. He expressed the expectation that the donated equipment will contribute to preserving the health of the citizens of Montenegro.
