President of the Board of Directors of the company "Mechanization and Programat" from Nikšić, Dušan Đurović, is the financier of the monument to the national hero Čedomir Ljub Čupić.
"Vijesti" did not manage to get confirmation of this unofficial and reliable information, because Đurović did not answer the journalist's phone calls and messages.
The mentioned company recently submitted a request to the Municipal Assembly that a monument be erected in Nikšić, on Trg slobode, Čupić. Councilors should consider the proposal at the session scheduled for February 20 and will almost certainly give the green light for erecting the monument. As stated in the assembly material, "Mechanization and programming" will maintain the monument at its own expense, and the money for the construction, as it stands, was provided by a private citizen from Nikšić.
The creation of the monument was entrusted to the famous sculptor Zlatko Glamočak, who has been working on it since last year in his studio in Paris.
It is planned that the solution to the monument will be evaluated by an expert commission, which will be formed by the mayor of Nikšić, Veselin Grbović.
On the bronze plate that will be placed in front of the monument, a pentacle will be drawn, and below it the text: "Čedomir Ljubo Čupić (1913-1942), national hero, shot on May 9, 1942 in Nikšić, his smile after the death sentence became a symbol of anti-fascism".
The monument, as stated in the parliamentary material, will be ceremonially unveiled on July 13, as "Vijesti" recently wrote about.
In 2014, Đurović received the Nikšić Liberation Award, and in the same year, the company "Mehanizacije i programat" presented the city with a lapidarium, an investment worth 100.000 euros, where around 80 stećaks are located. Thanks to "Mechanization", that year the sub-wall under the Cathedral was finally repaired, which collapsed in March 2011. Until 2012, Đurović was a member of the DPS in the local Assembly.
