Rasovo got a new president

Economist Mirko Luković was elected president of the Rasovo Local Community of Bijelo Polje, and Admir Hasić, Ph.D., was elected deputy, thus resolving the conflict between some citizens and NGOs and the current leadership.

In the office of the President of the Bijelo Polje Municipal Assembly, Abaz Dizdarevic, at the constitutive session, the convocation of the Council of the largest Bijelo Polje MZ was verified, including Mustafa Bektašević, Stanka Perović, Miloje - Kiro Šekularac, Ranko Rovčanin, Almir Gredić, Safet Hadžibulić, Milfad Balić, Veselin Merdović and Harun Crnovrsanin. Crnovršanin was subsequently included, after the previous MZ President Milan Pešić returned the mandate to the Council.

Luković said that he was honored to perform this duty and that soon, with the support of the local self-government, he would start solving the problems of the citizens of the largest MZ.

"Together with our colleagues, with the support of the local self-government, we will soon start solving the problems of the locals and make a full contribution to the development of the Rasovo Municipality", said Luković.

The NGO "Novi Put" claimed that the procedure for the election of the Rasovo Municipal Council was illegal and that the election of the president was delayed for more than four months, which is why they announced the protest, which was not held. From that NGO, they claimed that the election of the new leadership, instead of the citizens, was arranged by the political parties. Milan Pešić, the previous president of the MZ Rasovo, said that such claims are incorrect, because the entire procedure was carried out transparently and in accordance with the municipal decision on the MZ.

"Citizens were informed on time about the dates of assemblies, where they could propose their candidates, and voting was secret. "The constitution of the council was delayed due to procedural reasons, among other things, due to the appeal of the NGO "Novi Put", but also the ban on gatherings due to the corona virus," said Pešić.

The NGO "Novi put" said that they were partially satisfied with the solution of the problem by changing the leadership in that Ministry of Health.

"We hope that the new Council of the Ministry of Health and President Luković will show greater responsibility towards the citizens, and try to stop the emigration and devastation of their local area," said the NGO.
