Supervisors of the Skadar Lake National Park today prevented illegal fishing with electricity in the Tophala area, the National Parks of Montenegro announced.

"On that occasion, an electric converter, an electric probe and two batteries were temporarily confiscated, as well as illegally caught fish, which will be handed over to charity. Park supervisors regularly visit the lake's water area and control the area in order to prevent all illegal activities. We emphasize that the use of electricity for the purpose of catching fish is an illegal activity in protected nature and leaves permanent consequences for the flora and fauna", the NPCG announced.

They point out that, in preserving the value of NP Skadarsko jezero, as well as all NPCG, the responsible relationship of all users of protected areas and compliance with all norms defined by law is of crucial importance.

"All responsible citizens can report illegal actions to the NPCG at the JPNPCG Call Center phone number 067 000 825 and thus contribute to the suppression of overall negative activities that damage the natural heritage of protected areas," concludes the NPCG.
