The Kasper application (Collective application for the selection, collection and recycling of waste) for Android and iOS devices gave citizens the opportunity to report illegally disposed waste on the territory of Podgorica, the PG Bureau announced.
The application was launched at the beginning of March, which was a big step towards a systematic and innovative solution to the problems of waste management and environmental protection.
"So far, 138 applications have been received through the application, of which only 4 are currently unimplemented. Also, a number of applications have not been implemented because they are not within our jurisdiction - 15 applications refer to locations that are not located on the territory of the Capital City, while 12 applications refer to locations located on private properties," said the PG Bureau.
The project was implemented by the economic companies "Čistoća" and "Deponija" Podgorica, in partnership with the companies "Amplitudo" and Crnogorski Telekom, and it was also supported by the United States Government with the investment of part of the financial resources.
They reminded that the application is free and available on the Google Play and App store platforms, and it is designed so that the user, after registration, marks the location for cleaning on the interactive map and submits the application, along with basic information, to the competent services.
They explained that the goal of the application is to improve the efficiency of city services in the field of waste management and open the possibility of better and more efficient communication with citizens in the field of improving the state of the environment in this area.
"The application will significantly contribute to the waste management process, and at the same time enable citizens to contribute to environmental protection in a simple way," the announcement concludes.
