Nuhodžić: All police officers with protective equipment and members of the intervention team will have identification marks

Minister of Internal Affairs Mevludin Nuhodžić said that from Saturday, June 27, all police officers with protective equipment, including members of the intervention groups of all security centers, will have the necessary markings on the protective equipment they use.

This, he said, solved another important issue for the culture of responsibility in the police organization.

Nuhodžić announced that the ministry supported the opening of an office for communication with citizens, so that the Council for Civil Control of Police Work could achieve the purpose for which it was founded.

"Supporting the further work of the Council is part of the unique message of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police Administration that any police abuse will not be tolerated and will be punished appropriately," he said.

He emphasized that the Police Administration accepted the recommendations and that clear identification of all police officers was ensured while performing their official duties.

"Due to the current events in Budva that have attracted the attention of the public, I would like to inform you that the Department for Internal Control of the Police is undertaking measures and actions within the framework of legal powers, with the aim of establishing facts of importance for evaluating the legality of the actions of police officers in all cases in which there is doubt that there was an illegal use of coercion during the procedure," said Nuhodžić.

He emphasized that the Council recognized the efforts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police Administration in implementing serious reforms, the goal of which, as he stated, is to make the police organization an efficient service, to improve overall responsibility and successfully respond to the needs of citizens and modern society. .

"We are here to condemn, together with the Council, any excess of authority in the work of police officers. Likewise, together with the Council, we will continue without hesitation to point out the need to protect police officers and respect their privacy and an effective criminal policy, which even in the case of an attack on an official it should not be below the legal minimum," said Nuhodžić.
