Minister of Education Damir Šehović and Mayor of Podgorica Ivan Vuković, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Milutin Simović and Director of the Public Works Administration Rešad Nuhodžić, today laid the foundation stone for the construction of a kindergarten in Block VI in Podgorica, worth more than two million euros, with a capacity for 215 children. will, as announced by the Ministry of Education, be completed in one year.
The kindergarten, which has an area of about 1.600 square meters, is being built through a project with the Development Bank of the Council of Europe (CEB), on land ceded by the Capital City.
Vice President Simović and Minister Šehović emphasized that education is one of the priorities of the Government of Montenegro, which, as they said, is confirmed every day and in every new project, and that educational projects worth 20 million euros are being planned or implemented in the capital city.
"With the kindergarten in Block VI, we complete the construction of kindergartens on the territory of the capital through the first project with CEB, within which three kindergartens have already been built: in Zagorič, Stari aerodrome and now the independent municipality of Tuza. In addition, next year we can expect concrete steps on the new project with CEB, through which four more kindergartens will be built in Podgorica alone: in the City quarter, another one at the Old Airport, Zlatica and Tuško put. This means that we will have seven new kindergartens in the territory of the capital city alone, as a result of the cooperation with CEB. When we add to that the new, recently contracted project with the European Investment Bank for the total reconstruction of two kindergartens in Podgorica, and other planned projects, we can freely say that in the previous four years we have made a huge step when it comes to increasing the capacity of preschool institutions in the capital city. ", Sehovic said.
He announced that the construction of kindergartens in Herceg Novi and Pljevlja will begin in the coming days.
The new kindergarten in Block VI will contain study rooms, a multi-purpose area, triage, an area for preventive health care, offices, a kitchenette, a laundry room, technical and other supporting rooms.
The mayor of Podgorica, Ivan Vuković, announced that the total value of the investment is two million euros, and that there will be places for over 200 children in the future kindergarten and crèche, the PG Bureau announced.
"Podgorica, as you know, is a city that is rapidly developing and expanding, and therefore the need for facilities of this type is increasing. As mayor, I am pleased that in the last few years, thanks to the support of the Government of Montenegro, we have managed to obtain a number of facilities of this type in different parts of the city. I am especially proud of the fact that we, as the city administration, have made a significant contribution, in this particular case by ceding the plot on which we are currently located, worth 660.000 euros. The same was the case with the plot at the Old Airport, worth over a million euros, on which the "Dragan Radulović" kindergarten was built. In cooperation with the Government, we ceded a facility in Stara Varoš, where we also received an institution of this type that was missing in that part of the city. We can state that the situation in this area is significantly better than it was the case a few years ago. Of course, the story does not end there. Tološi, Zlatica, City quarter are waiting for us... So, there is still a lot of work ahead of us, but I have no doubt that with the support of the Government Montenegro to respond to that challenge in the right way," said Vuković.
The PG Bureau added that the kindergarten is being built on a plot of 3.185 square meters, and that the facility itself will have a gross area of 1.568 square meters and will have a basement, ground floor and one floor.
"The construction concept of the building is based on a circular rampart, which puts the safety of children in the foreground and clearly demarcates the belonging space of the building from the surroundings. The southern facade will be completely free of walls, which will provide maximum sunlight for the children's rooms throughout the day, as well as excellent visual connectivity indoor and outdoor space. The building is planned for: workrooms for children of nursery and kindergarten age, a multipurpose area (open hall), an area for triage and preventive health care of the child, offices and meeting room, kitchenette, laundry, technical and other supporting rooms "The entire program of preschool children's stay, with a common area and necessary medical facilities, is organized on the ground floor, and the first floor is intended for the crèche area," said the PG Bureau.
The press release states that the construction of the kindergarten is financed from CEB (Council of Europe Development Bank), while the state is obliged to pay VAT.
"The Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism held a competition for the selection of the best conceptual architectural solution, in which the work of "Inter project" from Podgorica was selected, while the Public Works Administration selected the company "Eurozox" from Danilovgrad as the project contractor in the tender. The deadline for the completion of the works is 12 months," said the PG Bureau.
The announcement also states that Vuković expressed particular satisfaction with the cooperation with the Directorate of Public Works when it comes to the construction of buildings of public importance in the area of Podgorica.
"In cooperation with that institution, he reminded, yesterday the formal procedures for the realization of two capital traffic projects at the Old Airport - the construction of Veljko Vlahović Boulevard and the reconstruction of Zmaj Jovina Street" concluded in the press release of the PG Bureau.
