The Central European Initiative has completed the evaluation process of the projects submitted as part of the extraordinary Call for COVID-19 projects, the Ministry of Science announced.

"Out of 7.000 submitted applications received from all member countries of the Initiative, 22 project ideas were selected for funding. Among them is the scientific research institution from Montenegro - Institute for Public Health, with the project "National Platform for Telemedicine", the announcement says.

The head of the project is Dr. Senad Begić, on behalf of the Institute.

The aim of this CEI Call was to quickly address the specific needs of communities within CEI member countries in the fields of medicine, education and support for micro, small and medium enterprises.

As they explained, the selected projects will contribute in the fields of telemedicine as well as the improvement of the health system, strengthening the operability of distance learning and digitization of micro and small businesses in the region.

"CEI, unlike most other regional initiatives, has its own funds for financing, i.e. co-financing cooperation projects. In addition to regular annual contributions from member countries, CEI activities are also financed from a special CEI Fund at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) ", says the statement.

One of the main priorities of CEI is cooperation with the European Union, with the aim of strengthening the process of European integration of the entire region, and their activities are mainly focused on the implementation of specific cooperation projects in the region.
