The Association of Conservators and Restorers of Montenegro (DKRCG) welcomed the decision of the Government of Montenegro to adopt the Information on the need to organize a conservation and restoration study program in the interest of strengthening human resources in the field of protection and preservation of cultural heritage, the DKRCG announced.
"We appreciate such a move as a responsible relationship between the Government of Montenegro and the Ministry of Culture, headed by Minister Aleksandar Bogdanović, on the way to achieving strategic goals in this area, which are the focus of the professional association's activities," the DKRCG press release states.
They add that the organization of this study program will have a positive impact on the improvement of conservation activities, which will overcome the long-standing problem of the lack of this specific staff, as the DKRCG pointed out in the past.
"Despite the serious challenges we are currently facing as a society on a global level, we are strengthened by the decision of the Government of the Republic of Montenegro, especially bearing in mind that in the system of protection of cultural assets, conservators and restorers, educated at the Faculty of Culture of the University of Montenegro, play an irreplaceable role. stopped working thirty years ago. On this occasion, we also point out the fact that the Ministry of Culture recognized the importance of the role of professional associations in the field of cultural heritage protection, and as a result of extraordinary cooperation and partnership with DKRCG, the project Methods and innovative solutions was implemented this year in research and conservation, presentation and valorization of cultural heritage," the DKRCG press release states.
They emphasize that the opening speech of Bogdanović, held at the end of May of the current year at the GEA International Conference, where our Society was one of the organizers, speaks in support of the above.
"Full support for the implementation of the planned activities was not lacking even from the State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Mr. Dražen Blažić and the Acting Director of the Directorate for Cultural Heritage, Ms. Dobrila Vlahović. In cooperation with the Faculty of Architecture and relevant state institutions, the Society organized a lecture session and the exchange of experiences of local and foreign experts on the same topic, as well as several workshops for architecture students, where as staff potential they are motivated and encouraged to develop their individual creativity by including them in the protection system, with the ultimate goal of preserving cultural heritage for future generations and participating in sustainable development of contemporary society. As part of the project, an information sheet was printed on the topic: Methods and innovative solutions in research and conservation, presentation and valorization of cultural heritage," the DKRCG concluded.
