Just wait until I see that the fire won't cross over to this side... here I am now, that's how farmer Đuro Vujotić began his phone conversation with the "Vijesti" reporter, who, as he claims, was injured two days ago in a fire in the Podkrš-Klopot region. in the vicinity of Podgorica, 600 bales of hay burned. Milica Petrović's house, which he rented, was also set on fire, he says, and the fire was still smoldering in that area the day after.
Vujotić is a registered farmer, he has 350 sheep and five cows. He is convinced that the fire was caused by a spark from the brakes of the train that was traveling from Bijeli Polje to Podgorica and passed through the Bratonožići station around 12.30:XNUMX p.m., when the brakes caught fire. He also claims that the Podgorica firefighters did not react in time.

"At 12.42:XNUMX p.m. workers on the highway saw the fire and called the Protection and Rescue Service. They arrived only after about two hours, "put out" the fire a little and left. I was getting off the bus at the time, and when I called the first time, they said I wasn't in a hurry. When I arrived, everything was already burnt", he told "Vijesti".
Vujotić was on the scene yesterday as well, and claims that, although the fire was still smoldering, the firefighters did not go out on the field.
The Protection Service did not answer "News" questions regarding the intervention in the Podkrš-Klopot region - when and who reported the fire, when the team went to the field, with how many vehicles and people, as well as how long the extinguishing took and what the damage was. . They did not answer whether the cause of the fire was determined, nor whether the fire was extinguished.
The Commander of the Service, Goran Janković, speaking about the fires in general, said that there is no information that the fire caused material damage and that all teams are on the ground.

During yesterday's day, Podgorica firefighters extinguished the fire that engulfed the grass, low vegetation and trees near the center next to the "Millennium" bridge.
Janković said that members of the Protection Service are fighting fires at several locations in the capital, but that the fire on Mali Brdo, where low vegetation and grass were burning, was the most critical.
"The fire threatened a large number of residential buildings, but with the coordinated action of several teams, despite the strong wind that made extinguishing difficult, the members of the Service managed to bring the fire under control and protect the threatened buildings and citizens' property", it was announced on the Facebook page of the Podgorica firefighters.
Until yesterday afternoon, the fires in Bratonožići and Fundina, which have been active since Monday evening, were not extinguished.
"At the moment, we have no threatened houses in that area, although the situation can easily change due to the wind," Janković said yesterday.

Members of the Protection and Rescue Service of the Capital City have had 33 interventions since the day before yesterday.
"Out of that number, 24 interventions relate to extinguishing fires in the following locations: Botun, Mahala, Cijevna, Bratonožići, Fundina, Pikalj, Vranj, Vuksanlekići, Konik, in the area of the former factory 'Radoje Dakić', Hoti, Vladne, Dinoša , Malo brdo, Rogami, Selišta, Preljubovice, Goričani, 'Morača' barracks, Momče, Pavličići and Moračica. Also, one intervention was carried out to remove a snake from the facility, while the other interventions relate to regular tours and other tasks within the competence of the Service", the Protection Service explained on Instagram.
The fires around Podgorica have been active for several days.
The Protection Service previously announced that a helicopter of the Army of Montenegro specialized in these operations was involved in the extinguishing, as well as planes of the Directorate for Emergency Situations.
