The National Park (NP) "Biogradska Gora" was visited by 6.000 tourists in the last week of July.
In the same period last year, there were more than 24.300 visitors.
As Aleksandra Bulatović from NP says, considering the circumstances and the epidemiological situation, this year's visit to the Biograd rainforest can be characterized as solid, although it is significantly worse than the previous one.
"Of course, there is also a significant difference in the structure of the guests. While last summer about 80 percent of the visitors were foreign guests, this year the locals dominate, and only 20 percent are foreigners. The summer season in our NP has been prepared with a lot of attention, so visitors have various contents at their disposal, both educational and offers that provide an opportunity for an active vacation," she says.
Bulatović reminds of the Government's decision that from August 1 no fee is paid for entering the national parks of Montenegro.
That was the reason for the record visits last weekend - when nearly 2.000 guests stayed in the Biogradska Prašum.
Earlier, the director of the National Parks, Rako Golubović, told "Vijesta" that in addition to projects aimed at strengthening the tourist capacities of Biogradska Gora, in the coming period work will also be done on positioning that area as a "kind of scientific laboratory".
