The workers of Komunalno from Pljevlja will suspend their work until August 19

The workers of the municipal utility company Komunalne usluge will stop work if their demands are not met by August 19.

This was decided at this morning's assembly of workers, which was attended by the recently elected executive director of the company, Dragiša Džarić, and the president of the Board of Directors, Kemal Kondo. The assembly of workers, which was held on the plateau in front of the city chapel in Pljevlja, was also attended by representatives of the Secretariat for Housing, Communal Affairs, Traffic and Water, Vule Macanović and Darko Gazdić.

The workers are demanding that the account of the company, which has been blocked by the tax administration for a long time, be unblocked due to a debt of around 340.000 euros.

One of the demands is the payment of three salaries within seven days, out of the sixteen that are owed to the employees of this collective.

They are also asking for proceedings to be initiated against the company's previous management, whom they blame for the difficult situation in which Communal Utilities find themselves.

The workers also expressed their dissatisfaction with the current attitude of the Municipality and the State towards the company, which they consider to be of wider social importance.

They also pointed to the difficult financial situation in which they and their families find themselves because they are owed 16 wages. They are also dissatisfied with the fact that the Parking Service service was recently transferred to the company Čistoća, which, they believe, left the company without significant income.

Addressing the workers, the Director of Municipal Services, Dragiša Džarić, said that he will resign if the authorities in the Municipality and the State do not help this company in the near future.

He said that the company is currently sliding towards bankruptcy, which he believes is unnecessary.

"The best proof of that is the last three months when, under account blocking, we managed to return 60.000 euros of tax debt and earn 50.000 euros from the founders of the Municipality of Pljevlja," said Džarić.
