The Minister of Sports Nikola Janović and the first man of Budva, Nikola Divanović, handed out free youth cards last night to 30 young people from Budva, who won them by registering on the Instagram profile of the Budva Youth Club.
The Municipality of Budva, in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the NGO Center for Youth Education, marked the International Youth Day last night at the old town fortress Citadel, promoting the European Youth Card (EYCA).
Stating that the European Youth Card is a project of the European Youth Association, Acting Secretary for Social Activities Tanja Kažanegra stated that the Secretariat and the Office for the Prevention of Addictive Diseases and Youth marked the International Youth Day in cooperation with the NGO Center for Youth Education, promoting the European Youth Card.
"The Ministry of Sports is the general sponsor of the European Youth Card. It is a benefit card for young people that allows all Montenegrin citizens of age, our young people, between 13 and 29 years of age, to use over 160 discounts in Montenegro, and over 70.000 discounts on travel, culture, accommodation, education, sports, films, other services and products in 37 countries across Europe", Kažanegra said at the official promotion.
Minister Janović said that Montenegro is one of the two countries in Europe that made it possible for the benefit card to be free for young people.
"So far, 8.000 young people have passed through the office of the Ministry of Sports who received this card, and I am especially glad that the municipality of Budva has joined the ranks of municipalities that have recognized this beautiful project of the Ministry of Sports. Not only within the Ministry of Sports, but also within all ministries The Government of Montenegro leads an active policy when it comes to benefits and opportunities for young people. I don't remember a single session of the Government without talking about young people and the challenges they face and how to create opportunities and benefits for our young people. In the past four years, the Ministry of Sports has invested more than one million euros in projects supported by youth organizations for the improvement of youth policy. 20 thousand young people went through those projects in a direct way and more than 50 thousand young people in an indirect way", said Jovanović.
According to Divanović, he said that the Municipality of Budva is enabling young people from Budva to finally start enjoying what their peers from all over Europe have been able to do for decades.
"In addition to young people, these types of partnerships are also important for our local entrepreneurs, because with their membership in this network they show their social responsibility, and let young people from Budva, Montenegro and the whole of Europe know that they are the address where they can fulfill their needs." , with greater benefits than in other places", said Divanović, adding that in the coming period they also expect partnerships in Budva, which will enable discounts and savings through the use of the European card.
The director of the EYCA office in Brussels, Manel Sánchez, will address the attendees via video, who congratulated the partnership between the Municipality of Budva and the NGO Center for Youth Education, stating that currently 45 countries and 65 organizations are working on the development of the European youth card, so that more than seven million young people across Europe could use it unhindered.
