The application of energy efficiency measures brings a more pleasant environment in health care institutions for both employees and patients, and about 800 thousand euros have been allocated for the reconstruction and adaptation of special hospitals in Risno and Dobrota.
This was said by the Minister of Health, Kenan Hrapović, while visiting these health institutions, stating that around 386 euros were allocated for the adaptation of the "Vaso Ćuković" Special Hospital in Risno, and 414 euros for the Special Hospital for Psychiatry in Kotor.
"Works on these two buildings began at the beginning of June, are being carried out according to plan, and completion is expected by the end of the year. The focus during the execution of the works is precisely on improving energy efficiency, i.e. replacement of facade locksmithing, installation of thermal insulation on the facade, installation of hydro and thermal insulation of the roof planes, improvement of the lighting system and the heating system", stated Hrapović.
Advanced energy efficiency, as he assessed, also brings a more advanced and pleasant environment in institutions, both for employees and patients.
"Research has shown that, after the implementation of energy efficiency measures, the satisfaction of patients with internal comfort has increased to over 95 percent, and that of medical staff to over 85 percent. The total energy consumption has been reduced by around 500 euros per year," said Hrapović.
He expects, as he added, that after the completion of the works, the buildings will be a demonstrative example of the benefits of implementing energy efficiency measures.
"The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Economy are continuing the implementation of the project "Energy efficiency in Montenegro". So far, around 8,8 million euros have been invested in health facilities through the project," Hrapović said.
The State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Nikola Vujović, said that he was pleased that everything that the Ministry and the Government as a whole is doing is producing measurable and obvious results.
"The project is of great importance, and we are implementing it with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. So far, we have completed the reconstruction and adaptation of 28 buildings from the health and education systems. These are facilities used by about 100 thousand users, which gives a clear picture of the importance and scope of all these projects. I am happy to see the satisfaction of the directors of the hospitals in Dobrota and Risno", said Vujović.
He is sure, as he added, that the completion of the works will achieve economic and energy effects in terms of savings, "but what is even more important, the effects of a more pleasant stay in these facilities."
The director of the Risan Special Hospital, Vlado Popović, said that it is a big project that involves the replacement of the facade and the entire roof of the hospital.
"Thus, we are only fulfilling the first step in the overall goal concerning the arrangement of the hospital, the hospital area, the Reception-Emergency Block. We have already started the implementation of the completion of the project of the operating block and the Intensive Care Unit, which we will apply for the capital budget," said Popović.
He pointed out that from July 1 until today, 151 orthopedic and 51 neurosurgical operations were performed in that hospital.
"All patients who were referred to our institution were taken care of. Not a single patient was referred to another health center. I think we are all on the same, common path to create institutions that will also support everything that is done in them in terms of infrastructure," he said. Popovic.
The goal, he added, is to create the preconditions for both Montenegro and the Risan hospital to be recognized on the world health tourism map, "and this hospital with this position really deserves it".
The director of the Kotor Special Hospital for Psychiatry, Petar Abramović, said that the renovation of the facades, replacement of windows, doors, a dozen heating boilers, as well as a complete change of lighting and air conditioning are planned.
"It is a project that is extremely important for this institution. I am extremely satisfied with the quality and dynamics of the works, as well as the dedication of the workers. We owe a lot of gratitude to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Economy. The project received positive comments from all citizens. I am sure that when the works are finished, everything will look even better than we expected", believes Abramović.
19 health facilities were energy adapted, namely the Clinical Center of Montenegro, including the Institute for Children's Diseases, hospitals in Pljevlje, Bijelo Polje, Berane, Cetinje and Kotor, special hospitals in Risno and Brezovik, eight health centers (Cetinje, Kotor, Nikšić, Kolašin , Andrijevica, Berane, Plav and Rožaje) and two health centers (Petnjica and Murino), and works on the Bar General Hospital and Ulcinj Health Center are in the final phase.
