Veterinarians in a clinic in Pljevlja were forced to euthanize a four-year-old roe deer today, which was brought to the clinic with injuries from hunting firearms and dog bites.
The gamekeepers found the animal wounded on the local road Kosanica - Glibaći in the town of Paćevina, and one of them told the police that he found two hunting dogs on the spot tearing up the wounded game, which ran away after noticing it.
"I made a tour of the nearest place of the wounded game, but I could not notice that there was hunting in the vicinity of this place, nor did I notice hunters, nor any traces that would point to the perpetrators of this crime," game warden Željko Cmiljanić said in a statement to the police.
In the minutes of the veterinary clinic, it is stated that the roe deer had fractures of its hind and front right legs, and that the injuries were caused by firearms - hunting weapons.
"There were also visible injuries on the back and thighs from dog bites," the report states.
