In the last few days, we have witnessed extremely worrying events in Pljevlje, which must be approached with much more attention and seriousness, the Civic Alliance (GA) announced today.
The statement of that non-governmental organization (NGO) adds that for this reason, today, the president of the Civic Alliance, Boris Raonic, met with the chief imam of the Mejlis of the Islamic Community in Pljevlja, Samir Kadribašić, and archpriest Saša Janjić.
"Vandalism over a religious building is an extremely serious and delicate situation and we must not allow Bosniaks, Muslims or members of any religious or national group in Montenegro to feel threatened. The XNUMXs are still alive today because until now there has been no adequate prosecution of war crimes, the rule of law was built and as a result we have this situation, whether those responsible are those who truly still live these monstrous values or those who want to artificially incite division and fear. It is imperative that the competent institutions, and above all the Police Department, react adequately and that rather shed light on this case and find and prosecute the responsible persons," the statement of the GA points out.
They said that they are certainly encouraged by the messages of peace, togetherness and solidarity that are coming from different addresses these days.
"We also call on the international community to get more actively involved and contribute to calming the situation and emphasizing the mentioned attempts to disrupt religious and multi-ethnic harmony in Montenegro," concludes the GA statement.
