"Just one pine tree provides oxygen for four people. That's why we will continue the preservation of green areas and afforestation, and several thousand more seedlings are planned by the end of the year," said Ana Petrović Njegoš, from NVU "Putevima predaka"

The Non-Governmental Association (NVU) "Paths of the Ancestors" and the Nikšić-based brewery "Trebjesa" decided to mark the day when Montenegro was declared an ecological state 29 years ago by reforesting the Trebjesa forest park.

Members of the NVU "Paths of the Ancestors" and employees of the brewery planted 500 saplings of spruce, cedar and birch.

"On the day when Montenegro was declared an ecological state 29 years ago, we organized an action to reforest the part of Trebjesa that was destroyed by fires last year. Today, therefore, we all need to remind ourselves that if there were no trees, the earth would become toxic for all of us. Just one thing a pine tree provides oxygen for four people. That's why we will continue the preservation of green areas and afforestation, and several thousand more seedlings are planned by the end of the year," said Ana Petrović Njegoš, from NVU "Putevima predaka".

She said that during the last year they planted 3.600 trees in Nikšić.

"Within the Molson Coors group, in September, Beer Seal Month is celebrated with a series of activities, when we are once again reminded that our footprint on the community must be positive. Plant new trees in the park, which we rightly call the lungs of the city and after which our company got its name , means that we will measure our positive impact with new oxygen, cleaner air, more shade on hot days. 20 of our employees participated in the action, which we symbolically called "For Trebjesa, from Trebjesa," said Jelena Damjanović Vidaković, corporate affairs manager in the brewery.

The Trebjesa Forest Park was placed under protection as a special natural area at the end of 2000.

More than 200 herbaceous and 40 woody species are present in this area, of which the existence of 15 endemic species of the Balkan Peninsula has been determined by previous research.
