In the Kolašin company "Vodovod i kanalizacija" they are planning several projects that should finally bring the water supply and the sewage network system to a satisfactory level.
According to the director of the company, Momčilo Bulatović, the preparation of project terms of reference and urban planning and technical conditions for as many as 22 kilometers of sewage network is underway. It is planned that the project will be financed from IPA funds, and its implementation, due to the coronavirus pandemic, has been postponed until next year.
A project for the construction of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) is also planned for 2021. As Bulatović says, the conceptual design has been completed for that project, as well as the Water and Sewerage System Development Study. WWTP will be built in two phases, and it is planned to be financed mostly from IPA funds.
"The total value of those two projects is around 6,75 million euros. Within them, 605.000 euros have been earmarked for the purpose of improving water supply... The implementation of a project to improve water supply in the city and rural areas is underway, through the city manager's office. The adaptation of the existing ones and the construction of a new catchment at the Rijeka Mušovća water source are planned, the construction of a new system for automatic chlorination, a fence around the source of new measuring instruments, equipment for locating losses on the network..." said Bulatović.
Nine months ago, the activities to repair losses in the water supply system began. It is planned, the director explains, to do "a general conception of the supply of the city and suburban settlements, as well as to divide the water supply areas into altitude zones".
About 150.000 euros is the value of intervention measures to repair defects and deficiencies in the primary water infrastructure. Bulatović announces that the main project and revision will be completed in ten days. The system will also include a tank of the so-called low zone, which has a volume of 3.000 cubic meters.
Bulatović highlights the conceptual design of the water supply system as very important, which would provide the necessary quantities of drinking water, sanitary needs, fire protection, as well as snowmaking for the slopes of the ski centers Kolašin 1450 and Kolašin 1600.
"Taking an additional amount of water for the needs of the city's water supply system will create conditions for a significant improvement in the water supply of Kolašin, as well as for the development of the city. With the proposed solution, water intake is foreseen directly below the Ljevaja source at an altitude of 1290 meters above sea level.
