The Embraer Super Tucano 29 plane was presented at the "Knjaz Danilo" military airport, the Ministry of Defense announced today.
The announcement states that Defense Minister Predrag Bošković met with the director of sales for the development of the Brazilian company "Embraer", Eduardo Nunes and the director of sales management, Simon Jones, who were visiting the Air Force of the Army of Montenegro.
The Ministry of Defense said that the purpose of the visit by representatives of the "Embraer" company was to present the characteristics of the A-29 Super Tucano aircraft.
They also stated that the Embraer A-29 Super Tucano is a Brazilian-made, turboprop light attack aircraft that was developed on the basis of the Embraer 312 Tucano and has been in production since 2003, as well as that it is suitable for basic and advanced pilot training, in support of ground forces. forces, and airspace protection".
"Bošković informed the representatives of the company about the modernization process carried out by the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Montenegro in the past period, with the purchase of three BELL 412 helicopters and one BELL 505 helicopter, which further strengthened and improved the capacities and capabilities of the Air Force, and therefore improved the level of security," the statement of the Ministry of Defense reads.
Bošković pointed out that the modernization of the air force is a priority in the coming period as well and that he hopes that the ministry will persist in this.
"The acquisition of such aircraft would significantly increase the capabilities of the Army of Montenegro. I hope that the Ministry of Defense will remain committed to the development of the capabilities of the Army of Montenegro, with the aim of further improving its basic defense mission, as well as contributing to the collective security system," Bošković said.
