Asphalted country roads in Berane

By asphalting two road routes in the local communities of Bubanja (Kačmor 600 meters) and Štitari (Jojovići 500 meters), the Municipality of Berane has completed the activities on asphalting rural roads in the area of ​​the municipality, as part of the IFAD project for 2020, with a total length of over five kilometers.

"A total of seven road directions were paved, in six villages of our municipality, with a length of 5.150 meters. The project initially envisaged the paving of 5.040 meters, but the Municipality added another 110 meters by extending two routes in the villages of Zagrađe (MZ Polica) and Bubanja. What still awaits us is the construction of the water supply system in the village of Petnjik, which will begin soon, which will officially complete the works foreseen by the IFAD project for this year", said the project coordinator on behalf of the Municipality of Berana, Milutin Mićović.

He said that the IFAD project foresees the construction of the water supply system in Petnjik for this year, where the works are in progress, and their quick completion is expected.

"With the construction of a water supply system in this local community, 40 households in the upper part of the village will receive a stable water supply, which will officially complete the works within the project," Mićović pointed out and added that the local administration will continue to improve the road infrastructure in the municipality.

He noted that the total value of the works is 323.916,89 euros, of which the participation of the Municipality of Berana is 25,51%, i.e. 82.261,18 euros, while the rest was financed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development - IFAD.

"This is the third year of the project implementation out of the planned five (2017-2023)," Mićović reminded.

Thanks to the IFAD project, a total of eight applications were approved for this year. In addition to the mentioned roads in the villages of Bubanje and Štitari, roads in the local communities of Zagorje (1.900 meters), Petnjik (400), Dapsiće (640), Polica (Zagrađe, two directions – 1.110) were asphalted. Works on the construction of the water supply system in the village of Petnjik are scheduled to begin soon.

Along with these activities in the rural area, the Municipality of Berane continued with asphalting and reconstruction of city roads.

Asphalting of the street was recently completed, on the stretch from Hotel Berane to the turn towards the Jasikovac memorial complex. Pavement construction is underway.

Work has also begun on the reconstruction of Đačka Street towards the football stadium. The works include the creation of curbs, sidewalks and new parking spaces near the "Vuk Karadžić" Elementary School and the Sports Hall.
