As part of the celebration of October 13 - the International Disaster Risk Reduction Day, an evacuation exercise for teaching staff and children was organized this morning in the kindergarten "Suncokrili" in Block Five in Podgorica.
The fire simulation exercise, that is, how to behave in the event of such an accident, was organized by representatives of the Directorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) and employees of the preschool institution.
"Today, in accordance with the plan, we organized a fire evacuation. Thanks to excellent communication and cooperation with the staff from this school, the exercise was successfully completed. We evacuated around a hundred children and 20 people. Both this year and the next, you will have the opportunity to watch exercises of various evacuations", said the head of the Department for Emergency Situations and Civil Security Ljuban Tmušić.
He said that so far, about 200 teachers in schools have been trained to deal with disasters.
He reminded that last year, as part of the campaign "Days of Disaster Risk Reduction 2019, Be Responsible - Reduce Risk", an earthquake and evacuation simulation exercise was held at the "Branko Božović" Elementary School in Podgorica.
