Ivanovic on Facebook: "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Refreshing, really"

The leader of Montenegro and member of parliament in Budva, Anđela Ivanović, posted a status on her Facebook profile this morning: "You have heard that it was said: Love your neighbor, hate your enemies. And I say to you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you "Refreshing, really!!!" wrote Ivanovic.

In the comments of her "friends", the status is connected with the death of Metropolitan Amfilohi of the Montenegrin littoral.

Asked to answer whether her status refers to the death of the metropolitan, Ivanovic told "Vijesti":

"I will not elaborate on my private statement from Facebook, which was interpreted in an extremely malicious and rude manner. I think the quote says enough about who found his cause in what. I participate in the mourning of all believers who mourn the death of Serbian Metropolitan Amfilihi," said Ivanovic.

She stated that since this morning she has been receiving threats because of her status.

The president of the Executive Board of Prava Budva, Aleksandar Franeta, stated in a statement that "Ivanović's reaction to this sad day is shameful".

"There is no religion, faith or belief in the universe that teaches us or preaches hatred between people. Whatever she believes in and wherever she belongs, and that is less important now, the biggest sanction for Ms. Ivanovic will be the crime she committed and we believe that she will to remind herself of that every day. It will take a lot of strength to live with the knowledge that she rejoiced over someone else's death. There is no need to mention how many human souls she hurt with her inhuman gesture," Franeta stated, among other things.
