Writer and academician Matija Bećković, Serbian Patriarch Irinej, Bishop Joanikije of Budamlje-Nikšić, Mandate Zdravko Krivokapić and President of the Assembly Aleksa Bečić will speak at the funeral of Metropolitan Amfilohi of Montenegro, "Vijesti" has learned.
They will speak in front of the Temple where the funeral will be held after the liturgy, which will be served by Patriarch Irinej.
Other bishops will also give sermons during the liturgy.
Bećković speaking at the funeral was the desire of the metropolitan himself.
Nova.rs announced, citing sources from the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral, that pressure was exerted on Joaniki to allow Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to give a speech.
Vučić told Television Vijesti that he did not know if he would speak at the funeral, that he did not ask for it, but that he would do so if asked.
Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral died yesterday in the clinical center in Podgorica, and he will be buried on Sunday after the liturgy that will be served by Serbian Patriarch Irinej in the Church of Christ's Resurrection in Podgorica.
