The Trebjesa forest park is richer for 500 seedlings, which, during the third afforestation campaign, were implemented by the non-governmental association (NGO) "Paths of the Ancestors", with the partner support of the NGO "Medija Tima".
About 50 volunteers participated in the action, and 500 spruce trees, five birch and cedar seedlings each and two maple seedlings were planted. Spruce seedlings donated by the Forestry Administration.
"I am especially pleased with the great response of young people. As socially responsible members of our community, they have made their full contribution to the protection of nature and the preservation of the Trebjesa forest park. Through the campaign "Save our forests", we want to animate the youth of Nikšić, nature lovers, local residents, sports clubs and NGOs associations in order to bring them closer to the importance of the Trebjesa forest park through reforestation actions," said the president of the Association, Ana Petrović Njegoš.
The action was organized as part of the "Let's Reforest Trebjesa" project, financially supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, and its goal is to contribute to the National Forest Strategy of the Government of Montenegro, through afforestation and sustainable forest management.
