The Podgorica Health Center used up all 11.000 doses of seasonal flu vaccine and requested additional quantities from Montefarm.
Nebojša Kavarić, the director of that institution, told "Vijesta" yesterday and pointed out that all those who applied received the vaccine.
Citizens complained to "Vijesti" yesterday that they were told at the health center that there is no vaccine, even though they have chronic diseases for which they should be vaccinated.
"Montefarm" replied that after the arrival of the VaxigripTetra seasonal flu vaccine in the facility's warehouse, delivery began on the same day to all public health institutions where the population is vaccinated, based on their assessments and needs.
"Specifically, 10.200 doses have been delivered to the Podgorica Health Center to date, which is one third of this year's total amount of imported seasonal flu vaccines for the needs of the entire public health sector in Montenegro. The necessary amount of seasonal flu vaccine is planned exclusively by public health institutions in coordination with the IJZ. The estimated quantities for all public institutions are summarized and based on the plan that is submitted in writing to Montefarma and a tender is called in order to distribute the vaccine in a timely manner," Montefarma's response reads.
From that institution, they said that their obligation is to call for tenders, receive, properly store, preserve and transport the flu vaccine.
They reminded that 31.000 doses of VaxigripTetra, manufactured by Sanofi Pasteur-France, were procured and delivered this year.
