The night in Plav was marked by several earthquakes of lower intensity, as a result of the ground settling down after of the magnitude 5.2 earthquake that shook Montenegro yesterday at 11 hours and 46 minutes. The epicenter of yesterday's earthquake was near Plav on Mount Visitor at a depth of 14 kilometers, according to the Department of Seismology at the Institute for Hydrometeorology and Seismology.
According to the head of the Protection and Rescue Service, Mirza Medunjanin, those earthquakes did not cause new damage, but they did increase the fear of citizens.
He said that two families spent the night in a hotel, while another five or six stayed with relatives.
According to him, by this morning, the Municipality has already received about a thousand requests for damage assessment on houses and buildings due to yesterday's strongest earthquake.
"We are working to reconstruct their residential buildings as soon as possible, so that they can return home as soon as possible," said Medunjanin.
As we were told in the Headquarters for the Suppression of the Consequences of Natural Disasters, the Municipality of Plav will open two accounts for the payment of aid, one for the diaspora and the other for the citizens of Montenegro.
In this municipality, they expect help from the Government, and three ministers, including the Minister of Internal Affairs Mevludin Nihodžić and the director of the Directorate for Emergency Situations Mirsad Mulić, will attend the session of the Municipal Headquarters for Natural Disasters today.
Earlier this morning, they met with the president of the municipality of Berane, Dragoslav Šćekić, and his associates.
The Municipality of Berane has already started to receive a large number of requests for the assessment of damage to buildings.
The President of the Municipality, Dragoslav Šćekić, said that the local administration and the competent Commission will work as long as necessary to determine the true situation after yesterday's earthquake.
"As always, we are with all our citizens and we will try to help everyone who needs it. We are in constant coordination with the state authorities from whom we expect help," Šćekić said.
The Municipality of Berana explained that requests for damage assessment are submitted directly to the Commission, or through the president of local communities.
In the Beran village of Vinicka, a family spent the night outside their house, that is, in a house in the neighborhood.
The night in Berane passed peacefully, and new earthquakes of lesser intensity were almost not felt.
