The measures are no longer valid, the Government is introducing new ones today

New measures against the coronavirus will be adopted today, "Vijesti" learned unofficially from the Government.

Until last night at midnight, the measures brought by the former Minister of Health Kenan Hrapović were valid, among other things, a ban on movement from 19 p.m. to XNUMX a.m., passenger intercity traffic on weekends, gatherings, celebrations, the stay of more than four people together outdoors...

It is expected that, as previously announced, the Commission in the Ministry of Health and the Council under the Government will be appointed today, which will deal with the strategy to fight against the new coronavirus.

The Institute for Public Health (IJZ) announced that 316 new cases of coronavirus were registered yesterday, among 967 analyzed samples, and that ten covid-positive patients died.

IJZ said that 102 new positives were from Podgorica, Nikšić 49, Bijelo Polje 44, Beran 32, Bara 27, Cetinje 16, Herceg Novi 12, Budva nine, Tuzi eight, Tivat six, Petnjica three, Pljevlja and Ulcinj two each, Kotor , Danilovgrad, Rožaja and Kolašina, one each.

"Since yesterday's examination, 10 deaths related to covid-19 have been reported to the Institute in patients from Podgorica (3), Nikšić (2), Ulcinj (2), Bar, Herceg Novi and Bijelo Polje. The oldest deceased was 84 years old, and the youngest 66 years old (year 1954). The total number of deaths related to covid-19 infection since the beginning of June is 534, and since the beginning of the year 543", announced the IJZ.

The recovery of 652 patients was reported. The number of active cases of coronavirus in Montenegro is 10.368.

More stringent measures are not required

IJZ epidemiologist Milko Joksimović told TV Vijesti yesterday that the measures in force are rigorous and that, if they were respected, new ones would not be necessary. "The current measures gave modest results, but there was no further increase in newly registered people on a daily basis," he said.

He stated that the current measures are fundamental, and that the greatest responsibility rests with citizens and control mechanisms.

"I honestly think that more rigorous measures are not necessary, but respect for the existing ones," said Joksimović.

He added that citizens send information to the Institute about violations of measures. He also said that the employees have enough equipment, and that there is no shortage of PCR tests.

Joksimović also said that the employees of the IJZ have been paid for every overtime hour since the first day of the epidemic.

"Satisfaction would be greater for us if the measures were respected and our lives returned to a normal rhythm without overtime," said Joksimović.

Mugoša resigned, remains at IJZ

IJZ director Boban Mugoša resigned from that position yesterday. "By submitting my resignation, I want to facilitate the procedure for the new Minister of Health, Ms. Dr. Jelena Borovinić Bojović, to form a team that will work on the development of the health system in accordance with the vision and priorities of the 42nd Government of Montenegro," according to the letter sent by Mugoš to the Minister of Health, Jelena Borovinić Bojović.
