Dr. Vesna Bratić and her colleagues met today in the premises of the Ministry of Education with representatives of the Education Union, the Association "Parents" and the NGO National Association of Parents of Children and Youth with Developmental Disabilities of Montenegro (NARDOS), with whom she discussed the continuation of the school year and challenges with faced by teachers, children and parents in pandemic conditions.

"In this sense, the representatives of the Association "Parents" referred to the project of support for socially vulnerable families that works in cooperation with UNICEF, and within which part of the equipment for this category of students was acquired. They emphasized that it is necessary to continue with this type help, so that all children would be able to follow the lessons in the same way. Kristina Mihailović said that in the Association they believe that the universal teaching model should not be applied in all schools and municipalities, but that from the next half-term, teaching should be organized in accordance with capacities of schools and the epidemiological situation, so that children can return to schools, while respecting the prescribed measures. The representatives of the Association agreed with the representatives of the NGO NARDOS that it is necessary to provide paid leave from work to at least one of the parents of children with special educational needs."

Representatives of trade unions and non-governmental organizations expressed their satisfaction at the opportunity to talk with Minister Bratić and her colleagues within a short period of time after taking office, and to jointly create a teaching plan and model for the second part of the school year in the coming period.
