An employee of the North-Mine company, which is a subcontractor at the Zagrad mine in Nikšić Župa, MB (22) from Turkey, was injured in an accident that happened on the night between December 7 and 8, the Workers' Party announced.
"We have pointed out many times that the injuries of workers are being covered up, however, as there is fear among workers due to losing their jobs, the public does not know about unpleasant events. Therefore, we appeal to the labor inspectorate to do its job. As "Vijesti" unofficially learns, the accident occurred when the stone sub-wall fell on him while MB was drilling in the pit. He was transported to the Clinical Center, and according to "Vijesti" information from that health facility, they informed the Podgorica Security Center that they have a Turkish citizen who was injured at work.
"We sent a team to secure the scene, and we informed the prosecutor on duty about the case and conducted an investigation together with the mining inspector," the police told "Vijesti".
According to "Vijesti" information, the injured worker gave a statement in the presence of an interpreter, and the police will also take a statement from the workers who were present at the time of the incident. The prosecutor's office told "Vijesti" that the acting prosecutor will make a statement about the case when he receives all the necessary documentation.
As the company Uniprom-metali, which manages the bauxite mines in Nikšić, told "Vijesta" MB is "according to the medical report in good health and will be released for home treatment from Friday".
