The non-governmental organization Association of Catering of Montenegro accepts as a positive signal the publicly expressed views of the ministers in charge of the economic and financial sectors in the Government of Montenegro in the program "Nachisto", that no decision regarding working conditions and state aid to this sector threatened by the pandemic will be made without participation representatives of the Catering Association, it is stated in their announcement.
As they said, partnership and mutual understanding are necessary in order to reach the best solutions that will enable the survival of this industry and the preservation of thousands of jobs.
"We are also encouraged by the announcement that any aid will be based on realistic economic and financial indicators. We are sure that any objective analysis will show that our demands are justified and can be a good starting point for a comprehensive and sustainable plan for, at this time , maintaining the life of this activity, and later the development of this activity, from whose good business can benefit everyone, and the state through filling the budget and new employment and employees, as well as businessmen in all related activities. We do not need to remind about the conditions and losses with which we operate in, which is caused by the new coronavirus pandemic, to the difficult, unbearable position of both employees and employers in this sector," the restaurateur's announcement reads.
They point out that it is important for everyone to be aware of the fact that as of December 1, this activity does not have any help from the state, and that help for this sector is urgent, and that closing restaurants due to the impossibility of doing business in these conditions is the worst solution.
"And it would have unfathomable negative consequences, not only for the members of our association, our employees and their families, but also for all related activities and society as a whole. Therefore, understanding all the challenges that we all face as a society and as a country, we expect that that our request will be analyzed as soon as possible and that, already in the next week, we will have feedback and the adoption of at least short-term, urgent measures, and later, in a partnership relationship, we will come to a long-term plan on how to make this important activity for the Montenegrin economy prosperous and sustainable", concludes the Ugostitel's announcement.
