The project "SAFE TOGETHER" - Prevention of risks in the cross-border area will contribute to strengthening the response to challenges related to natural and other disasters, announced the director general of the Directorate for Emergency Situations in the MUP Mirsad Mulić at the introductory meeting of the project partners.

The focus of the project, which is implemented by the Directorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Interior of Montenegro, as a leading partner in cooperation with the City of Gradiška (BiH) and the City of Daruvar (Croatia), is to strengthen the material and human capacities for responding to natural disasters, but also to protect nature and environment in the cross-border area.

"In addition to the national training center for protection and rescue in Podgorica, the project envisages the establishment of regional training centers in Gradiška and Daruvar and their equipment, the procurement of an all-terrain vehicle and personal and collective rescue equipment for protection and rescue, the establishment of the Mountain Rescue Service in Gradiška and Daruvar, organizing specialized training for subjects of the protection and rescue system, holding joint field exercises, making local disaster risk assessments, as well as informing the population about the risks of natural disasters," the Ministry of the Interior announced.

The total value of the project, which was financed under the IPA INTERREG Cross-Border Cooperation Program between Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, is EUR 1.276.113,89, of which the European Union's contribution is EUR 1.084.696,79, or 85 percent of the total project costs. .
