The President of the Municipality of Tivat Željko Komnenović (NP) and the executive director of the company "Regionalni Vodvodest Crnogorsko Primorje" doo Goran Jevrić, together with their colleagues, discussed on Friday the dynamics of the works on the connection of Herceg Novi to the Regional Waterway, which are taking place on the part of the Adriatic highway through Tivat .
"The President of the Municipality pointed out the citizens' dissatisfaction with the months-long works that hinder normal functioning and business in Seljanovo and Donja Lastva. According to the initial information, the end of the works was announced for December 20. Also, part of the pavement along the fence wall of Porto Montenegro and in certain locations in Donja Lastva was damaged. The topic of depositing construction rubble, which was previously disposed of at the location of the former agricultural property near the Tivat Airport, is also current.
The Regional Waterworks announces that, weather permitting, all works will be completed on December 29.
"So far, 98 percent of the planned work has been completed in terms of excavation and pipe laying. When it comes to depositing soil and other construction material, the contractor was obliged to define the location of depositing this material with the Municipality, which was not possible considering that Tivat does not have a landfill for disposal of construction waste. The investor - the regional waterworks has undertaken the obligation to instruct the contractor to rehabilitate the site on the agricultural property. The soil will be transported to the designated landfill, about which the Municipality of Tivat will be notified," the announcement reads.
Namely, on the former vegetable gardens and vineyards of the Montepranzo-Bokaprodukt agricultural estate, the contractors whose investor is the Regional Waterworks, illegally dumped more than 14 cubic meters of soil and construction debris in the past months, and the local municipality of Tivat announced that they would investigate who made it possible for them and insist that all that material be removed, taken away and disposed of at a proper landfill that meets the legal requirements, which currently do not exist in Tivat and Kotor.
The Secretariat for Inspection and Communal Supervision ordered the contractor to repair the damaged sidewalks in Seljanovo and Donja Lastva. This will be done by January 5, 2021:
"It is a priority to complete works that disrupt regular traffic. When they are finished, the damaged sidewalks will be rehabilitated," said the Regional Waterworks.
"The Municipality of Tivat has no intention of jeopardizing or slowing down the dynamics of work execution in any way, but takes an active role in controlling the execution of works, bearing in mind the numerous complaints of citizens and their interests. Our common goal is for the works to be completed as soon as possible and for all public areas to be restored to their previous state," Mayor Komnenović emphasized.
