The health institution "Montefarm" signed a contract two days ago on the procurement of rapid antigen tests, worth almost 700.000 euros. The work was awarded to the company Osmi red, and 87.500 tests will be procured. The money for this type of diagnostics was allocated from the budget two months ago, and it was necessary to acquire enough tests for November.

However, the tender was not completed on time, so many citizens were forced to do this type of diagnostics in private health institutions, where a quick antigen test costs 25 euros.

On November 6, the former government decided to divert 700.000 euros from the current budget reserve for the procurement of rapid antigen tests. "Montefarm" announced an emergency tender for procurement in the second half of November, but soon withdrew it. That institution did not respond to "Vijesta" as to why the tender was withdrawn, but said that they would call for a new one.

In the meantime, some health centers were left without these tests, so they were forced to ask for donations, while some hospitals procured them from their own funds.

That company, after the conclusion of the contract, should deliver 20.000 tests to Montefam, and the rest after a month.

There is no increased admission of patients in the north

Although they examine a large number of patients in the Covid clinics every day, there is no increased admission of patients requiring hospitalization in the Beran hospital, said Minister of Health Jelena Borovinić Bojović. Yesterday, she visited the covid ward at the General Hospital in Berane, as well as the inpatient unit at the Health Center in Rožaje.

"Today, during my visit to the Beran hospital, I visited all the patients in the hospital's COVID department, of which there are currently 33 out of a total of 84 beds dedicated to covid patients. Of those 33 patients, three are currently life-threatening, eight have a severe clinical picture, and the rest are currently in a stable condition. From my colleagues who are on the front line of defense every day, I learned that a large number of patients are examined in outpatient clinics on a daily basis, that the arrival and departure of patients to the hospital is dynamic, but that the number of those receiving hospital treatment has not been increasing lately," said Borovinić Bojović.

She assessed that the Rožaj health center provides a greater number of services and that in June 11 covid patients were treated in that institution.

"There are currently 29 covid-positive patients receiving daily treatment in the part of the inpatient unit that has been converted into a day hospital, and an appropriate number of beds have been provided, which are ready at any time to receive any patients who are deteriorating. "Severe patients who require serious monitoring and twenty-four-hour monitoring by an anesthesiologist are referred to Bijelo Polje General Hospital and Berane General Hospital," Borovinić Bojović concluded.
