The culprits for the tragedy on Bioč, in which 47 passengers died and more than 200 were injured, have not been found even after 15 years, and the responsibility lies with the state, because it is the one who hides, protects and absolves those responsible for the crime.
This was said at yesterday's press conference in Bijelo Polje, the president of the NGO "Voz neprebola" Goran Vojinović.
He invited Slobodan Drobnjak, the only person convicted of the train accident, to say why he took over the management of the malfunctioning train, even though his colleague had previously refused to do so at the station in Podgorica, and why he withheld the names of those who should be held accountable.
"How did the other accused, who are perhaps even more guilty than Drobnjak, in a strange way get the opportunity to defend themselves from freedom and who made it possible for them? Their responsibility or irresponsibility could only be proven in an honest and fair procedure, with respect for the law," said Vojinović.
He also called the directors and those who completed this process in their offices, Vesna Medenica, Zoran Pažin and Radul Kojović, and asserted that the state prosecution had no interest in renewing the court proceedings.
He also said that the Supreme State Prosecutor Ivica Stanković "did not do anything regarding the accident on Bioč in 2006, although he was aware of all the details".
Vojinović also said that humanitarian aid has become a state secret. Instead of Podgorica, the conference was held in Bijelo Polje, because the members of the Management Board of NGOs from Podgorica and Cetinje are in self-isolation.
Member of the Management Board Hivzo Topuzović said that the laying of wreaths at the memorial to the victims in Bijelo Polje will take place on Friday at 11:55 a.m., and afterwards at the memorial to the children from Bulgaria. On Saturday, the laying of flowers on Bioč will be organized.
