The Ministry of Culture proposed the formation of a State Commission that will submit a report to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) on the items missing from the National Museum, after determining the true situation.
This is written in the Information on problems in the work of the Public Institution National Museum, which was adopted by the Government yesterday. Acting Minister of Culture is Deputy Prime Minister Zoran Pažin.
"After establishing the facts, the State Commission will establish a list of missing museum objects, so that the same can be processed by the MUP and continue to act in accordance with the regulations and competences of this state body," the Information reads.
The Directorate for Cultural Heritage and the Directorate for the Protection of Cultural Property coordinated the work of the commission in question and prepared documentation for the work. In the Information, it is written that the number of museum objects is disputed with regard to the existing museum documentation.
The official of the National Museum, Aleksandar Berkuljan, submitted to the prosecutor's office a report and information about the missing items.
