Lazović: Sekulović is asking for my resignation through the media

Assistant director for the fight against organized crime and corruption of the Police Administration (UP) Zoran Lazović wrote to the Minister of the Interior Sergej Sekulović, because on Tuesday he sent the head of the cabinet to inform him that the first man of the MUP "will ask for his resignation".

Sekulović told "Vijesta" that he will not present his position today but in the coming days.

Lazović announced that due to the "obviously politically motivated pressure to which he and the Sector for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption (SBPOKK) are exposed, he will inform the Council for Civil Control of Police Work, the Ombudsman, the European Commission and international partners"...

In the letter, which "Vijesti" had access to, Lazović wrote, among other things, that Sekulović "obviously does not have the courage, the dignity to talk directly with high-ranking police officers", to order something as an elder, as befits, but to communicate the orders and intentions of his mentors. through a woman-intermediary".

"I expected the minister's messages to be praise and recognition for the best results of the sector I manage so far. Measurable results, international awards and cooperation with European security services clearly show that the sector I manage has achieved the greatest successes and a level that is far greater than all the reach that Mr. Sekulović has achieved both as a person and as a professional," said Lazović.

He also emphasized that professional results and personal credibility were obviously not important for the ministerial position - quite the opposite.

"What is the reason for this minister to inform me about the content of his media appearance, I do not know. I know that none of the 12 ministers, who changed during my service, never informed me about their media appearances, because in no way it did not belong to the domain of my work and interests. This 13th minister does not care about the safety of citizens, but about the implementation of revenge," Lazović stated, among other things.

The head of the SBPOKK also wrote that the results of the sector he manages in the fight against organized crime are probably the reason for requesting his resignation, because the minister did not give any "reason for the plot, and he could not, because there is no such reason"...

"How, instead of praise for work and results, the minister asks for my resignation, a logical question arises - who is responsible for the obstruction in the work of the successful police sector - SBPOKK, which has the best results in the fight against the most serious forms of crime? The answer is simple, only to those we are against fought and whom we arrested. Those whom we prevented from killing in our cities and those whose money laundering and drug trafficking chains we broke," the letter reads. Lazović said that in the fight against organized crime, he has not been prevented by the dangers of such an office, "so certainly not even the media appearances of the minister appointed to be a henchman."
