The cultural center is still without a director

The meeting of the Council of the Kolašin Cultural Center, at which the statute of that institution was supposed to be changed, will not be held soon.

The president of the newly elected Council, Željko Braunović, has submitted his resignation, according to reliable information from "Vijesti". He explained that he did it "for personal reasons, in order to enable the smooth functioning of the institution".

Braunović was appointed to that position recently at the session of the Council of Ministers, by the votes of the ruling majority. At the end of last month, the Council was supposed to change the condition for appointing a director. The session was postponed without an official explanation, and the members of the Council had to adopt changes according to which the director of the Center could be with the higher school.

Democrats, after scheduling the Council session, warned that it was called illegally. That party explained that "the law clearly stipulates that the decision on the appointment of Council members can exist in legal circulation only when the changes according to the decision are registered in the CRPS".

As the last changes in the CRPS for that institution were made on March 18, 2020, it is not possible to convene a Council session". The newly elected President of the Council, as announced by the Democrats, "is not authorized to schedule sessions, let alone to make decisions at those sessions". This was followed by Braunović's resignation.

It has already been seven months since Gorica Ilinčić submitted a request for dismissal after less than two years in the position of the director of that institution. She never explained why she no longer wanted to run that institution, and the Kolasin Municipality praised her work. Unofficially, the misunderstanding between Ilinčić and the local government arose because of employment at the Center. The new director has not been appointed yet.
