The first contingent of vaccines against the coronavirus will arrive in Montenegro today, it was confirmed last night by "Vijesti" in the Government.
Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović said that he had previously spoken with Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić and that they had agreed on the details of the donation.
"I can confirm that tomorrow around 18.30:XNUMX the vaccines will arrive in Montenegro. Prime Minister Brnabić will hand over the donation to Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić. The Government of Montenegro expresses great gratitude for this selfless and humane gesture, which is an excellent introduction to better bilateral cooperation between the two countries," Abazović said yesterday.
According to "Vijesti" information, at least 2.000 doses of Sputnik V will arrive from Serbia today, and another donated vaccine contingent should arrive in a few days.
The occupancy of hospital capacities for covid patients in the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) exceeded 77 percent.
There are currently 120 covid beds in that institution, 93 are occupied, and the largest health institution said that in the event of a further increase in hospitalized patients, they will expand their capacities.
The KCCG told "Vijesta" that nine more patients who have been confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus and who were hospitalized due to an underlying disease are being treated at other clinics.
In the Institute of Oncology, the Children's Hospital and the Clinic for Neurology, one patient is being treated each with a confirmed virus, two in the Center for Cardiac Surgery and four in the Orthopedic Clinic.
"We remind you that KCCG has been a covid hospital since the beginning of the epidemic and that treatment protocols for all patients, including those who are primarily hospitalized due to covid infection, as well as those with other health problems, are clearly defined. In this sense, each organizational unit has designated isolation rooms for patients who require hospital treatment due to an underlying illness, and who are positive for the new coronavirus", clarified the KC.
In the answer, it is written that since the beginning of the epidemic, 210 patients who were hospitalized for other health problems were treated in that institution, and they also tested positive for Sars Cov2.
KCCG told "Vijesta" that nine doctors, 19 nurses and technicians, as well as four non-medical workers, are currently positive for the new coronavirus.
Another 16 employees are out of the machine, as four doctors, eight technicians and four non-medical workers are in self-isolation.
MZ: Like the whole world, so will Montenegro
Yesterday, the Ministry of Health reiterated that they did not refuse the donation of vaccines offered by Greek businessman Petros Statis and Russian Oleg Deripaska, but only, they claim, referred to a procedure that must be followed.
From that department, they said that on February 8, the Montenegrin Institute for Medicines and Medical Devices (CINMED) approached the company of a Greek businessman for the delivery of the required documentation, in order to ensure that the vaccines against covid are imported in accordance with international regulations and protocols.
They explained that on February 2, Adriatis Properties sent a letter about their intention to donate vaccines, and that they responded the very next day, for which they submitted evidence.
"The fact is that there is not a single country in the world, not even in the region and Europe, that has acquired vaccines against covid from a private company or individual. Every vaccine that was purchased and delivered came either from the manufacturer or from the donor country or, as is most often the case, in cooperation between those two entities and the country requesting the vaccines. Only in this way will Montenegro get vaccines. Therefore, all contracts on vaccines were signed at the highest diplomatic level either with the manufacturer or with the government of the manufacturer's country," the announcement reads.
British strain confirmed, stricter measures to follow
The new, so-called British strain of coronavirus was found in seven of the 40 samples sent to the Charite laboratory in Berlin, the Institute of Public Health (IJZ) announced. The institution said that, in accordance with the current epidemiological situation, they will propose stricter health measures.
"Vijesti" has learned that today the Working Group for the control, prevention and suppression of the infectious disease covid-19 should meet.
The IJZ announced that the presence of a new strain was established by the viral genome sequencing method.
They recalled that the laboratory of the Department of Molecular Diagnostics of the Institute, using the auxiliary performance of PCR diagnostics, detected the possibility of the existence of a new strain of the virus in several cases.
"Through available mechanisms and with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO), 40 samples were sent for further analysis to the Charite reference laboratory in Berlin," it was announced.
The IJZ said that the currently available scientifically based data indicate that the British strain is characterized by significantly higher transmissibility, while there is not yet a sufficient amount of relevant information on whether it causes a more severe clinical picture in infected patients.
The announcement states that by February 11, the new variant of the virus had been identified in 83 countries of the world, including 31 countries of the European Union, and that around 57.400 cases had been recorded in the world.
The IJZ pointed out that it is estimated that thanks to the increased transmissibility, as well as the lack of adequate extremely strict measures, the new strain will become the dominant variant of the virus in the coming weeks and months.
11 patients died, they will tighten control in HN
The new coronavirus has been confirmed in 467 people, 449 patients are receiving hospital treatment, while 11 deaths from covid-19 have been recorded.
The IJZ announced that there were 169 new positives from Podgorica, Budva 64, Herceg Novi 37, Bara 22, Cetinje and Bijelo Polje 18 each, Tivat 17, Ulcinj 16, Pljevlja 15, Kotor 13, Beran ten, Rožaja six, Mojkovac four, Plužina three, Kolašin two, Danilovgrad, Andrijevice and Tuzi one each.
"Since yesterday's examination, 11 deaths related to covid-19 have been reported to the Institute in patients from Bar (3), Ulcinj (3), Podgorica (1), Kotor (1), Herceg Novi (1), Bijelo Polje (1) ) and Tuzi (1), the youngest of whom was 55 and the oldest 86 years old," the announcement reads.
The municipality and the Herceg Novi Health Center appealed to citizens to behave in accordance with epidemiological measures and specific instructions during the covid pandemic.
In the joint statement of the President of the Municipality, Stevan Katić, and the Director of the Health Center, Goran Komar, it is written that it is of crucial importance that covid patients and their contacts behave responsibly and in accordance with the instructions, noting that the intensive movement of covid-positive people in the city and numerous institutions has been noticed, which is inadmissible.
"Covid patients, more precisely those who are sick with covid infection, are in mandatory home isolation. Their household members, the so-called contacts, must endure two weeks of isolation and are automatically considered positive for covid infection, even though it has not been laboratory proven", said Katic and A mosquito.
The announcement says that in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, they will intensify the monitoring of patients and their contacts.
