The Municipal Team for Protection and Rescue of the Municipality of Tivat ordered, at the meeting held today, the closure of Solil and the Great City Park, since the epidemiological situation in the city is not better, announced today from the Municipality of Tivat.
"For now, we will not close the promenades, however, if the situation does not improve within seven days, we will be forced to take this unpopular step as well," said the President of the Municipality of Tivat Željko Komnenović, adding that one gets the impression that the citizens do not take seriously the fact that on a daily basis, a significant number of newly infected persons is recorded.
He said that individuals who have been issued a decision on self-isolation are walking around the city and believe that they will pass unsanctioned.
"We condemn this kind of behavior and, in agreement with the Tivat Security Department, we will tighten controls on these persons," Komnenović emphasized, stressing that he is dissatisfied with this aspect of police work, and that this is the main problem facing Tivat.
The Tivat Health Center said that on this day, 299 people are actively infected with the coronavirus, and 20 people from Tivat have died so far.
The director of that public institution, Jasminka Anđelić, said that due to the large number of sick medical workers, there are no conditions for the work of the Health Center to be organized in two shifts.
The Municipality of Tivat said that 20 vaccines for medical workers have arrived at the Health Center, while over 300 people over 80 years of age have applied for vaccination so far.
Commander of OB Tivat Ljubiša Rovčanin pointed out that in the past seven days, the police checked 273 people in nine controls, and four criminal charges were filed for non-compliance with the applicable measures.
"Mixed patrols will be organized, which will consist of officials of the Secretariat for Inspection and Communal Supervision, members of the Protection Service and voluntary fire brigades from Tivat, as well as officers of OB Tivat. They will work together to control the implementation of measures by citizens and any violations found will be sanctioned. Controls will be especially intensified on promenades, picnic areas and beaches, where the presence of a large number of people has been recorded in recent days. Also, communal police and inspection will control commercial establishments and other frequented public spaces," reads the announcement of the Municipality of Tivat.
The announcement also states that the Tivat Red Cross has delivered aid to another 30 families.
"In the coming period, they will work on collecting aid. All municipal services and companies are in a state of readiness and all services are performed regularly," the announcement concludes.
